Our Goal:

To preserve the vital national history and educational spirit of Naval Air Station Glenview (NASG) through the establishment of:

An NASG museum and interactive aviation-based learning center focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) on former NASG land.

NASG was crucial to the defense of this country in the 20th Century.  It was a cradle of aviation and a military community dedicated to training, technology and readiness.

Twenty years ago, Glenview made a promise to preserve this critical chapter of American history.  Today, we have the opportunity to fulfill that promise by establishing a museum and learning center that will commemorate the contributions of generations past, while providing a cutting edge educational facility to help upcoming generations succeed in the technological future they face.

"Bring It Home, Glenview" is a reference to an NASG WWII plane, which crashed and slipped under the waves of Lake Michigan 70 years ago.  If we act now to create a permanent museum on NASG land, we may have a chance to bring this plane back to Glenview - making it the only one of the 130 lost NASG WWII fighters to complete its loop - and return to home base.  And that - is history in itself.  Let's Bring It Home, Glenview!

"Throughout World War II and subsequent years [NASG] was a pivotal point in the development of naval aviation...If the citizens of Glen[view] and surrounding areas are dedicated enough to recognize the heritage where they live...then a remembrance of the Naval Air Station and all those who served there could be a possibility."
Captain James A. Lovell, Apollo 13 Astronaut, U.S. Navy (Ret.)

"Our goal is to redevelop Glenview Naval Air Station to create a lasting source of pride for the community . . . To accomplish this goal, we are committed to: . . . Redeveloping Glenview Naval Air Station that recalls its rich history."
